An 11-year-old girl was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday night.

The Chillicothe Post of the Oho State Highway Patrol says 34-year-old Amber Bloss was traveling southbound on Coal Dock Road, crossing State Route 32 in a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. 43-year-old Christopher Turner was traveling eastbound in a 2004 GMC Sierra on State Route 32.

Troopers say Bloss failed to yield, and Turner's vehicle struck her Jeep on the passenger side. Bloss's vehicle slid off the left side of the roadway and overturned onto it's left side. Turner's truck came to a stop on State route 32.

An 11-year-old girl riding in Bloss's vehicle was pronounced dead at Pike Community Hospital. An 8-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were also in Bloss's Jeep. Both were taken by Air Evac Helicopter to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. Bloss was taken to Pike Community Hospital and is expected to be okay.

Mr. Turner refused treatment at the scene by Pike County EMS, but was later transported by family to Holzer Hospital in Jackson, Ohio.

Troopers said the 11 and 12-year-old girls were not wearing seatbelts.

The crash is still under investigation.
