Thousands of viewers, the sports community and friends have reached out to 10TV to show their support for the grieving Tiberi family after the loss of their daughter.

Maria Tiberi, the 21-year-old daughter of 10TV Sports’ anchor Dom Tiberi, died late Tuesday in a crash along I-270 at Cemetery Road.

Maria was a graduate of Dublin Coffman High School and a student at The Ohio State University.  She leaves behind her parents, brother and sister, along with a large extended family and many friends.

On Wednesday, thousands turned to the phone, email, social media and 10TV.com to leave their comments for the Tiberi family.

Gene Smith, the athletic director at Ohio State University, publicly shared his condolences via a Tweet.

“My heart goes out to Dom Tiberi and his family. Dom please feel this love I am sharing. @DOMTIBERI,” he wrote.

Kirk Herbstreit, a former Buckeye quarterback and current sports commentator on ESPN, similarly shared his comments.

“My thoughts & prayers are w/ the Tiberi family this morning. They lost their daughter Maria last night in a car accident. So sad,” he wrote.

Maria’s friends also reached out via Twitter.

“I sat next to Maria in my first class on my first day of freshman year at OSU. Life is so precious. Sending thoughts and prayers. RIP,” said friend Meaghan Alimo.

But thousands of central Ohio 10TV viewers, who have never met Dom other than through their TV sets, shared their condolences and thoughts for the family.

“Dom, so sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful daughter Maria. Prayers and love to your family during this difficult time. There are no words that can take this pain away. I pray God wraps his arms around your family,” said Suzanne McGill, who commented on the In Memoriam page on 10TV.com.

“Dom, as a long time viewer, I feel like I know you. Words can't really express how sorry I am for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. Please know you are in my prayers,” said Megan Haddox online.
