Calls To End Violence After Teen Murdered
A 14-year-old girl was remembered, a day after she was shot to death in front of her home.
Amanda Kirwin was with a group of friends around 11:45 Monday night when shots were fired into the group. She was hit and died.
Dozens gathered a day later at the site of her death on Dana Avenue to say goodbye and celebrate the life of Kirwin.
She was just about to start her first year of high school.
The group lit candles and called for an end to violence.
“She was only 14. She was just a baby. She was my everything,” said mother Amanda Kirwin.
“All the shootings and the arguments and the fighting, needs to stop, it’s childish,” said a neighbor.
Three people have been taken into custody in this case. A 16-year-old who police say is a person of interest. His mother, who police say was harboring him and a 13 year old was brought in for questioning.
