Call Of Cyber Duty: Military Academies Take On NSA
A team of West Point cadets is fending off cyberattacks this week as part of an exercise involving the nation's service academies.
The annual Cyber Defense Exercise requires teams from all five service academies to create computer networks that can withstand attacks from the National Security Agency. The academy that mounts the best defense during the five-day exercise receives a trophy.
The competition might lack the lore of the Army-Navy football game, but West Point officials say the cadets will employ their sharpened cyber skills when they become Army officers.
West Point has won the trophy six times since 2001. Air Force won last year.
The exercises run through Thursday.
