Buckeye Defensive End Spence Doesn't Make Orange Bowl Trip, May Still Play
The Ohio State Buckeye football team arrived in Miami on Sunday without a star player.
All-Big Ten defensive end Noah Spence did not make the trip with the team to Florida. The team said he was managing a personal issue, but coach Urban Meyer said he hoped Spence would be able to play with the team in the Orange Bowl.
The Ohio State Buckeyes face the Clemson Tigers on Friday in the 2014 Discover Orange Bowl.
The team arrived around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Several of the players spoke to the media when they got off the plane.
“My main focus is really on the team right now, especially on the game plan. I’ve been watching a lot of film," said Braxton Miller, Ohio State QB.
LB Ryan Shazier, RB Carlos Hyde, TE Jeff Heuerrman, DE Joey Bosa, and WR James Clarke are the five Ohio State players with Florida roots.
