Break-In Victim, Friend Fight With Suspect Until Police Arrive

A man faces multiple charges for allegedly trying to break into a southwest Columbus home.

According to court documents, Harry Peterman tried to break into the garage at a home in the 600 block of Woodbury Avenue. He used a screwdriver to pry the lock hasp off on the unattached garage.

Documents stated that Peterman entered the garage and tried to steal some tools, but the homeowner's son and his friend interrupted him.

Peterman tried to flee, but the son and his friend fought with him until police arrived.

Peterman is charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools.
