Boy, 2, Taken In Stolen Ohio Car, Later Found Safe

Police say a 2-year-old boy who was in a car when it was allegedly stolen was found safe in northeast Ohio early Friday morning.

Ross Francis allegedly stole the car that was running outside of a home. The 2-year-old boy was asleep in the back seat of the vehicle.

Francis, 42, was taken into custody near Lordstown. The boy was found unharmed, according to WKBN-TV in Youngstown.

According to investigators, the driver of the vehicle left the toddler in the vehicle to run inside a home.

An alert was issued late Thursday night after the pajama-clad boy went missing in Niles, about 55 miles southeast of Cleveland. The toddler was found early Friday morning.

Francis faces receiving stolen property. He could face kidnapping charges, also.
