Bond Set For Man Accused Of Being ‘Bad Beard Bandit’

A man who police say may be the 'Bad Beard Bandit' appeared in court on Monday.

Kenneth J. Horsley was arrested on Friday after an attempted robbery at the Chase bank on High Street in Clintonville.

Horsley allegedly wore a fake beard, displayed a gun in his waistband and demanded money from tellers.

A witness reported Horsley leaving the scene and police chased him several blocks. Horsley crashed his vehicle into a building and was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

According to authorities, Horsley may be a suspect in at least seven other bank robberies in the area.

Police said that Horsley confessed to the Friday robbery attempt, but denied involvement in any other bank robberies.

On Monday, a judge set his bond at $350,000.
