A man accused of groping children at two home day cares was ordered held Wednesday on $2 million bond.

Thomas Shifflet was charged with rape amid allegations that he inappropriately touched a 3-year-old girl at a day care managed by his daughter, 10TV's Tanisha Mallet reported.

Prosecutors said other alleged victims -- all children under the age of 10 -- have come forward with similar claims.

"We believe we have five total, four that are uncharged but substantiated," said Athens County prosecutor Keller Blackburn.  "We are waiting on lab results from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and we are also trying to gather some outside information to verify some of the things we have."

Investigators said that Shifflet, 74, did not work at the day cares, and they said his daughters knew nothing of the allegations involving their businesses, 10TV News reported.

His next court appearance was scheduled for August 10.
