Big Changes For Big Ten Football For 2014

The Legends and Leaders are gone, while Maryland and Rutgers are here.

Welcome to kick-off in the 119th sesason of the Big Ten.

For 2014, the league is welcoming Maryland and Rutgers which puts 14 teams in the Big Ten.

The Legends and Leaders divisions have been replaced with the East and West.

The new teams will head to the East. Also, Michigan and Ohio State now share a division.

Here's a look at the breakdown:

Ohio State was the highest ranked Big Ten team coming into the season, although the votes were cast before star quarterback Braxton Miller was lost to a shoulder injury. The Buckeyes were 5th in the AP Poll and 6th in the Amway Coaches Poll. Michigan State isn't far behind, ranked 8th in both polls.
