The Better Business Bureau warned charitable givers about 'crowdfunding' for the victims of the Cleveland kidnappings.

According to the BBB, 'crowdfunding' is a popular way to raise funds fast from many people using the Internet and social media sites. It is not always deductible.

The BBB warned all people wanting to donate to check the legitimacy of all charitable fundraising.

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance has seen charity scams following all recent natural disasters and manmade tragedies and encouraged donors to balance generosity with thoughtfulness and research.
