Authorities Release Name Of Man Who Died While Boating At Indian Lake

Authorities said a 75-year-old man died at Indian Lake on Wednesday.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, James A. Lamarr of Waynesfield, Ohio, died after getting into the lake at about 12:21 p.m. Wednesday.

He was boating with his brother when he realized the drain plug was not installed and got into the water. He was unable to get back to the boat as it started to drift away. His brother tried to save him but was unable to reach him, ODNR officials said.

Logan County Sheriff’s Officials said that Lamarr got into the water to look at his boat’s engine but never resurfaced.

Crews pulled Lamarr from the water and took him to a local hospital, where he died.
