The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has identified three people killed in a crash on U.S. Route 62 Saturday night.

Sammy F. Stamper Sr., 55, of Ashville, and his son, Samuel Scott Stamper, 29, of Orient, were both killed.

Nine-year-old Elijah Love of Hilliard also died in the two-vehicle crash.

Police say a woman driving a Pontiac Vibe southbound went left of center and struck a Honda Accord head on.

The Stampers were passengers in the Vibe.

Elijah Love was a passenger in the Accord, which contained a family of five.

He was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Elijah was riding in the back seat of the car.

Love was a student at Beacon Elementary School in Hilliard. The school principal released a statement which read in part "The entire Beacon Elementary School and Hilliard City School District is saddened by these events.  We informed students this morning about this news, but encourage parents to also discuss this situation with students and share any information about your family’s personal beliefs and preferences related to Elijah’s passing."

The drivers of both vehicles, along with three other passengers in the Accord, were transported to local hospitals.

Officials said they were expected to survive their injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
