Alleged Victim Kills Armed Robbery Suspect

An accused armed robber is dead after being shot by an alleged victim.

The shooting happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday in the area of North Harris Avenue near Sutton and Hague Avenues in west Columbus.

Kenneth Owens, 46, said the suspect, Larry N. Mausali, 24, Parkersburg, West Virginia, took his wallet and forced him to drive to an ATM to withdraw money.

While driving to the bank at gunpoint, Owens said he pulled out his own gun and shot Mausali.

Mausali was transported to Mount Carmel West Hospital where he later died.

The shooting is still under investigation.
