Dress retailer Alfred Angelo Bridal filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in Florida on Friday.

Monday morning, the retailer posted an apology note to brides on its website.

"Alfred Angelo filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on July 14, 2017. As a result, all stores and wholesalers are closed. Margaret Smith is the duly appointed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee. If you wish to be contacted regarding your order status once information is available please send an email to: alfredangelo@mjstrustee.com. We will post additional information regarding the status of dresses on this web-site as it becomes available.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and hardship resulting from this event. We greatly appreciate your patience. Thank you."

Many brides-to-be took to social media to express their frustration and hope that they could still get their dresses.

Patricia Redmond, a lawyer who is representing Alfred Angelo Bridal, told the Sun Sentinel that she will ask the court-appointed trustee to release dresses being held in the stores awaiting pickup.

Other national chains are also trying to help out, discounting dresses by as much as 30 percent, for affected customers.
