9 Charged For Allegedly Stealing From Ohio Department Of Job & Family Services
The Franklin County Prosecutor announced on Wednesday that nine people have been charged in connection with illegally collecting unemployment from the state.
According to Prosecutor Ron O'Brien, the nine were charged for illegally collecting the money from the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.
"All of these theft cases were people receiving unemployment compensation from the state while either working full or part time and who failed to report this to the ODJFS on a weekly basis, which is a requirement of the program," O'Brien said.
According to the prosecutor, the thefts totaled more than $90,000.
Mark A. Clemens, 48, of Columbus; Michael N. Greisiger, 44, of Powell; Danielle Saleem, 38, of Columbus; Antonio K. Hill, 37, of Columbus; Matthew I. Koehler, 27, of Worthington; Jonathan M. Manzie, 37, of Columbus; Douglas Brewster, 57, of Westerville; Shalanda Couch, 41, of Columbus; and Karen Harrell, 52, of Columbus; have each been charged with one count of theft and one count of tampering with evidence.
