4 Face Charges In Connection With Apparent Multi-County Theft Ring

Officials were searching a property near Mount Victory in connection with an alleged four-county theft ring.

According to Hardin County Sheriff's officials, four men were in custody and facing charges in connection with the alleged crime ring that officials said may have spanned years.

The Union County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they were assisting the Hardin County Sheriff's Office with an investigation.

Investigators said that they found weapons, including rifles and shotguns, as well as ATVs, dirt bikes and electronics. According to investigators, the burglaries that netted the items were random.

They believed at least 20 homes in Logan, Marion Union and Hardin counties were targeted as part of the alleged crime spree.

Sheriff's officials said that one search warrant was issued on Wednesday and another on Thursday. Investigators arrived on scene on Wednesday and planned to be there through at least Friday.

Chopper 10 captured video of officials digging with backhoes through the dirt at a rural property near Mount Victory that officials confirmed belonged to another one of the unidentified suspects.
Officials also loaded items into a semi at the scene.

Another home of a suspect, located in the 300 block of Main Street in Mount Victory, also was being searched.

Officials said that they expect additional indictments.
