The Assault Squad is investigating two shootings that happened less than half a mile apart in east Columbus.

The first happened Thursday night around 11:30 p.m. on Fairwood Avenue, just north of Livingston Avenue.

Columbus Police say 37-year-old Andrew Price told them he was shot while sitting on his front porch. Price was taken to Grant Medical Center with two gunshot wounds. Officers say he is expected to be okay.

A short time later, just blocks away, responded to another shooting on East Mound Street.

A mother called police, saying her son was shot in the back.

Police determined 18-year-old Tyrel Radcliff had actually been shot while sitting on a porch on Bulen Avenue.

He was also taken to Grant and is expected to survive.

Investigators say it is unclear if the two shootings are connected.

There is no word on a suspect.
