2 People Charged With Shooting Man While Asking For Directions

Two people are charged with shooting a man sitting in his car behind an east Columbus business.

The shooting happened Thursday night around 9:15 p.m. behind 1500 Mount Vernon Avenue near Taylor Avenue.

Columbus Police say a man, a teenager and a woman approached 59-year-old Moussa Sow’s car and asked for directions.

Officers say one of the suspects then opened the driver’s side door and shot him in the thigh.

Police say Sow then sped around to the front of the building and called 911.

Medics took Sow to the hospital.  He is expected to survive.

Officers identified two of the suspects as 18-year-old Tyrone Coles, Jr. and 20-year-old Ginger Wiley.
