2 Highland Local Schools Students Hospitalized After Fiery Crash


Two teens were hospitalized after a crash in Morrow County Friday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a car driven by Kyle Rowe, 16, of Marengo left County Road 170 and struck a tree shortly before 3 p.m.

The Highway Patrol said Rowe and his passenger, Noah Smith, 16 of Mt. Vernon were both ejected from the car.

The car then caught fire.

The teens were students at Highland High School, according to the district superintendent.

Both teens were hospitalized.  Rowe is listed in fair condition at OSU Wexner Medical Center.  Smith's condition was not available.

The Highway Patrol said neither teen was wearing a seat belt.
