1 Person Injured In Shooting At Dayton VA Medical Center

Authorities in Dayton responded to a report of an active shooter at the VA Medical Center in the city.

WHIO-TV in Dayton reports that the initial calls came in around 12:15 p.m. on Monday.

Police locked down the building, which is on West Third Street.

One person was injured and suffered minor injuries in the attack. The victim was identified as Paul Burnside.

A suspect was taken into custody by hospital security when his sister transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital, according to CBS affiliate WHIO-TV. Officials say the suspect was identified as Neil Moore, a former VA employee.

Dozens of police cruisers were on the scene in the moments following the shooting.
