1 Dead After South Side Shooting; Police Search For Gunman
Police say a man was shot and killed in south Columbus during a robbery attempt early Monday.
Officers rushed to a mobile home park just after 3 a.m. Police said that 40-year-old Chris Manley was pronounced dead at the scene, located in the 1000 block of Harmon Avenue.
According to officers, Manley was at the mobile home park with his uncle and another man when something went wrong.
Police said that Manley and his uncle were robbed and shots were fired.
"When they arrived, they found the victim inside the trailer with a gunshot wound to the upper body," Sgt. Dana Norman said.
Police said that Manley and the shooter may have known each other and that drugs may have been the motive behind the robbery.
Columbus police dispatchers told 10TV that officers are searching for a silver Cadillac that the gunman may have gotten away in. The suspect may also have stolen a safe or a gun.
