1 In Custody In Connection With Crash That Killed 5-Year-Old


A 5-year-old is dead and a 3-year-old is injured after a two-vehicle crash in north Columbus Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said Tucker Northeimer was killed in the crash.

His sister was hospitalized following the crash which occurred just before 1 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 161 and Beechcroft Road.

Both children were restrained in child seats in the back seat of the vehicle at the time.

Police said their father, Joshua Northeimer, was driving westbound on state Route 161 when William Hill hit him. Hill was travelling northbound on Beechcroft Road.

Tucker was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Ella Northeimer was expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday evening, according to police.

Joshua Northeimer was taken to Grant Medical Center. He was also released from the hospital Wednesday evening.

Hill, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and OVI. He is expected to be arraigned on Thursday morning.
